Sessions

Session 1: Wattbike

The Wattbike is great for a warm up! A constant resistance and no impact on joints or your back like you would encounter on the running machine. A nice smooth easy ride is preferred for a warm up! However…. it is not just warm ups that they’re good for.

Get a sweat on and tone the legs with some intervals, or as I call them ‘spintervals’

You can vary the timings of the intervals but as an example, using 10 seconds on a hard seated sprint and interchanging with a 10 second rest, or riding easy, would be a sweaty finisher, especially to a leg session.

Keep your shoulders back, chest open and back straight whilst sucking your belly button towards your spine and activating your core. Keep your hips, knees and ankles in line for a smooth yet beneficial and testing ride.

Session 2: Skipping Rope

Another exercise that can be found in everyday gym life! However this is great for a warm up or even a cardio exercise.

Depending on your skipping level of expertise, this can go from a steady state cardio and warm up to an explosive fat burning session. As you can see from James in the video, he’s not bad. Working the shoulders, arms and wrists down to the legs, especially the calves, it’s a great loosener. It also gets the blood pumping before a gruelling session!
